Castro explained that the project is based on four pillars of European cooperation in Nicaragua: the fight against climate change, sustainable production with added value, an emphasis on equality and the role of small producers, and education and technology as a cross-cutting value. He affirmed that this project is possible thanks to a powerful network of partners and the outstanding contribution of civil society.

During his visit, the ambassador visited the Aquaculture Experimental Station, where tilapia fingerlings breed to ensure food and economic resources for farming families in the region, which they hope will have a multiplier effect.
