Mexico’s Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, details the new industrial policy with entrepreneurs

The Secretary of Economy explained that the aim is to increase the productivity of the national industry through scientific-technological innovation. 

The Secretary of Economy of the Mexican Government, Tatiana Clouthier, informed that today she met with several business chambers to detail a new industrial policy, which will be presented in the next few days.

“It is a roadmap to align efforts of the different economic actors towards an industrial model that generates inclusive growth,” she stated on her Twitter account.

He added that the aim is to increase the productivity of the national industry through scientific-technological innovation, as well as the development of capabilities and the increase of national content.

The Business Coordinating Council (CCE for its acronym in Spanish) welcomed this meeting with the Secretary of Economy and the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, Luz María de la Mora, to define the most appropriate path toward an inclusive, productive, and innovative industrial policy that increasingly integrates national content into value chains.

“Industrial policy is a fundamental issue that IP has been promoting for years. Thanks to the dialogue with the government and the proposals generated, agreements have been reached to build this roadmap that will benefit Mexico’s industry and job creation,” said CCE President Francisco Cervantes.

Also present at the meeting were the president of the Confederation of Employers of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex in Spanish), José Medina Mora, the president of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers, José Abugaber, and the president of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry, José Antonio Centeno.

On July 27, Forbes Mexico published that the new strategy contemplates the detonation of sustainable and sustainable industries in the Mexican Republic and that for the design of this industrial policy, strategies and best practices of leading countries in industrial innovation has been studied and through the analysis of the particular characteristics of the country.
